Camp Cot Tips for Adult Sleeping Bags


Many adult campers cringe when they think about rolling out there sleeping bags directly on the tent floor. One possible solution to this problem is to use a sleeping pad. Sleeping pads fill the bill and area a key component of hiking campers who are on the move quite nicely.

Those of us who prefer to set-up camp in commercial or public campgrounds for extended periods of time, however, look for a little more comfort as well as distance from the Earth below …

For the campground frequenting campers, camp cots make a great addition to your sleep system since the offer great support and loads of added comfort.

Two basic types of camp cots exist on the market today. First is the self contained, quickset folding cot you simply remove from the carry bag and extend into shape for use like many folding camp chairs as depicted below:

The second type is constructed like the old wood and canvas military cots but now use aluminum and synthetic materials for the cot surface shown in the following image:

Either system works well  as a support system for your sleeping bag though larger folks maybe better off looking for military style camp cots which are available with larger frames and weight ratings.
